I am excited to be joining the team at Evolve Wellness Centre! Evolve Wellness is a team of experienced and dedicated healthcare practitioners, who strive to help patients to optimize their health and well-being all in a beautiful and healing environment.

I have been a practicing Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since 2014 with a background in the fitness industry since 2002. After completing a 2-year diploma of exercise science from Langara College, I trained to become a BCRPA certified personal trainer. My career as a fitness professional encompassed working with clients in a one-on-one setting, in small groups, in a medical setting, as well as in the classroom as a course facilitator. In 2012, I began my transition into Massage Therapy, completing the 3000-hour program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) in 2013. I have also since returned to VCMT in 2022 as a clinic instructor, working to teach and guide the next generation of RMTs.

Combining my personal training and RMT experience, spanning over 20 years, I have worked with a wide range of people with a wide range of conditions along with ever-evolving needs. What I am seeing now, with our world becoming increasingly fast-paced and complex, is that our need for balance has become even more crucial than ever.

Navigating the business of living whilst doing our best to remain healthy, balanced, and well is no easy task for many of us. Often it may not take much for an excess of stress to get the better of us. This is why I firmly believe that our own self-care is no longer a luxury.

And this is the fundamental basis of my massage therapy practice: to help bring your body back towards a more balanced state. I believe massage therapy to be one of the key cornerstones of healthy self-care, as there are so many incredible benefits, including: tension reduction in muscles, enhancement of circulation, stress relief, accelerated healing of soft tissue injuries, easing of muscle pain, improvement of sleep quality, improvement in joint mobility, stimulation of lymphatic fluid movement, and a lot more…(therapeutic contact can do a lot!)

As an excess of stress can easily show up in our lives, we must understand that our body heals, recovers and regenerates best in parasympathetic states; those of places of deep calm and relaxation. As such, the primary focus of my treatments first and foremost is to help the nervous system to “drop down” and help the body to enter a deeply relaxed state. Within this relaxation framework, I will then implement the specific therapeutic treatment where necessary, employing a combination of Swedish, myofascial release, deep tissue techniques, stretching techniques, as well as TMJ tension & dysfunction. I also provide individual-specific home care with my patients as well as any activity modifications that work towards individual goals. I look forward to helping your body to restore and above all, to help to you feel better.
